Sunya - Santa Kristiāna Krūze (born 1996) Latvian born artist, working in Riga.

 

Santa creates visual and audial narratives - formed by reality, experiences, fiction and dreams, as she tells about the dialogue between human and non-human entities and their actions. In her artistic practice she is interested in emotion and environment which she is at the moment - Santa collects memories, characters and personifications that reflects on personal observations. By using painting, sculpting, music and video, Santa creates a continuous story which unfolds as autobiography and an exploration of the zeitgeist, world, culture and environment. Added irony accentuates the artists optimistic, humour driven and nihilistic nature and the dycotomies it creates.
